BRUSELAS 2000-2006
Entre 2000 y 2006 resido en Bruselas, el periodo más largo en la misma ciudad fuera de España. Después del exotismo de China, Marruecos o Siria, la vuelta a Europa, el clima lluvioso y la falta de luz, me hace replegarme en una cierta tristeza. Dos elementos van a ser los protagonistas de esta serie: fragmentos de la naturaleza vegetal como flores, tallos, raíces, espigas dentro de solitarios jarrones antropomorfos, que clasifico en masculinos y femeninos; y elementos minerales como piedras, rocas, tierras…que llenan inertes, el solitario espacio del cuadro.
FLOWERS AND STONES, BRUSSELS 2000-2006
Between 2000 and 2006 I resided in Brussels, the longest period in the same city outside Spain. After the exoticism of China, Morocco or Syria, the return to Europe, the rainy weather and the lack of light, it makes me withdraw into a certain sadness. Two elements will be the protagonists of this series: fragments of plant nature such as flowers, stems, roots, spikes within solitary anthropomorphic vases, which I classify into masculine and feminine; and mineral elements such as stones, rocks, lands… filling inertly, the lonely space of the painting.
